Ascona is directly located on Lago Maggiore. Up to the beginning of the last century it was a sleepy fishing village. Today, Ascona is a popular center for tourists, dominated by modern boutiques, café’s, restaurants and hotels. But the original atmosphere is still there, particularly in winter, when only a small number of people who love Ascona spend their time enjoying the sun. I painted the skyline from the lake using my segment style, following the buildings and their colors that are mirrored in the water.
